How long does Ye Olde Tavern Tour take? Ye Olde Tavern Tours lasts between two and two and a half hours.
How far will we be walking? About a mile. It will be a leisurely pace with plenty of stops in between.
Will I get beer on the tour? Yes. You'll get a beer at each tavern. The beer options are local, craft beers. The cost and gratuity for beer is included in your ticket. We do not offer substitutions for beer.
How many taverns do we visit? We will visit three taverns where you will receive a beer at each stop.
How much do tickets cost? Tour along the Freedom Trail: Tickets cost $65 per person. This price includes a beer at each of the three taverns where we stop. There are no service or handling charges for tickets.
How many people are allowed on each tour? Tour along the Freedom Trail: We cap this tour at 12 people to ensure an intimate experience. If you have a group larger than 12, please contact us about setting up a private tour.
Who should go on Ye Olde Tavern Tours? Anyone who loves fun. The only requirements are that you be at least 21 years old and able to walk about a mile. Unfortunately, anyone under 21 years old is not permitted to join the tour, even if they promise not to drink a beer.
Is anyone under the age of 21 allowed on the tours? What about infants? No one under the age of 21 is permitted on our tours. There are no exceptions to this.
What should I wear on the tour? Comfortable shoes. You'll be walking for about a mile so you can be fabulous on top, but stay functional on your feet!
Tickets
How do I buy tickets? Tickets must be purchased on our website in advance of the tour. Please go to the Buy Tickets page to purchase or click on the link below.

Will I be mailed physical tickets? No, we do not mail physical tickets. After you purchase tickets, you will receive a confirmation email. On the day of the tour, you can bring that email (on your phone or printed out) and your photo ID.
What is the 5% tax on tickets? Massachusetts requires a 5% Sightseeing Surcharge on any tours taken in Boston.
What is your refund policy? All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or rescheduling once tickets are purchased. Tour tickets are sold based on availability for a specific date and time and your ticket is valid for that tour only. There are no exceptions to this.
Are gift certificates available? At this time, they are not available.
Day-of-Tour
Where do I meet up with the tour? Tour along the Freedom Trail: Meetunder the Boston Common sign on the corner of Park Street and Tremont Street. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of your tour.
How do I get to the meeting location? Tour along the Freedom Trail: The easiest and fastest way is by public transportation. The Park Street T stop is on top of Boston Common and its entrance is steps from where we meet. The Green and Red lines both have stops at Park Street and the Orange line’s Downtown Crossing stop is a very short walk away. There are also many parking garages around Boston Common.
Where does the tour end? Tour along the Freedom Trail: The tour ends near Faneuil Hall, a busy and fun space with lots of taverns and shops. It is a 10 minute walk from our tour's starting location.
Why do I need to sign a waiver? Our insurance company requires all participants to sign a liability waiver at the beginning of the tour.
Will you operate rain or shine? Yes. In the shine, of course, and in the rain. Please check the forecast in advance so you can dress appropriately. In the very unlikely event of unsafe weather conditions, you’ll be notified by email of any cancellation.
Do your tour guides accept gratuity? Gratuity for your tour guide is never required or expected, but if your tour guide exceeded your expectations, they will accept gratuities at the end of the tour.
Private and Group Tours
I want to go on a tour, but I can't go at any of the times listed. Is it possible to schedule a private tour? Yes! Ye Olde Tavern Tours are available for private tours any day of the week and are a fun and engaging way to entertain clients, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, or treat your employees. Email us to schedule.
Is there a minimum number of people required for a private tour? Yes. A minimum number of 10 people are required to host a private tour. If you have fewer than 10 people, the ticket cost per person will increase. Contact us for more information.
