  • How long do the tours last?
    Tour along the Freedom Trail The tour will last between 2 hours and 2 hours, 15 minutes. Cock'd & Boozy Tour The tour will last about 1.5 hours.
  • How far will we be walking?
    Tour along the Freedom Trail About a mile. It will be a leisurely pace with plenty of stops in between. Cock'd & Boozy Tour About three-quarters of a mile. It will be a leisurely pace with plenty of stops in between.
  • Will I get drinks on the tour?
    Tour along the Freedom Trail Yes. You'll get a beer at each tavern--they're included in your ticket price! The beer options are local, craft beers. Gratuity for the tavern servers and bartenders are also included in ticket price. Cock'd & Boozy Tour Yes. You'll get a colonial-inspired craft cocktail at both of the taverns we visit. The cocktails are included in the ticket price, as is gratuity for tavern servers and bartenders.
  • How many taverns do we visit?
    Tour along the Freedom Trail We will visit three taverns where you will receive a beer at each stop. Cock'd & Boozy Tour We will visit two taverns and drink a cocktail at each.
  • What if we prefer cider instead of beer?
    No problem! Hard cider is available at the three taverns that we visit on our Tour along the Freedom Trail. Select the box at checkout to indicate you or someone in your party prefers the cider over beer.
  • How many people are allowed on each tour?
    Tour along the Freedom Trail We cap this tour at 12 people to ensure an intimate experience. If you have a group larger than 12, please contact us about setting up a private tour. Cock'd & Boozy Tour We cap this tour at 15 people. We are available for larger, private tours too!
  • Is anyone under the age of 21 allowed on the tours? What about infants?
    No one under the age of 21 is permitted on any of our tours. There are no exceptions to this.
  • What is your refund policy?
    All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or rescheduling once tickets are purchased. Tour tickets are sold based on availability for a specific date and time and your ticket is valid for that tour only. There are no exceptions to this.
  • Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
    Yes, all tickets must be purchased online before the tour. If there are no tickets available on our booking calendar, we are either sold out or are not offering a tour that day.
  • What is the 5% tax on tickets?
    Massachusetts requires a 5% Sightseeing Surcharge on any tours taken in Boston.
  • Do you have any handling fees?
    Nope! Your total cost will be the cost of the tickets plus the 5% Massachusetts sightseeing tax.
  • Do your tours operate rain or shine?
    Yes. In the shine, of course, and in the rain. Please check the forecast in advance so you can dress appropriately. In the very unlikely event of unsafe weather conditions, you’ll be notified by email of any cancellation.
  • Where does the tour start? end?
    Tour along the Freedom Trail The tour begins at Boston Common, the first stop on the Freedom Trail and a central location downtown. We meet at the corner of Park Street and Tremont Street, with more information on your confirmation email. The tour ends near Faneuil Hall, close to many restaurants and shops. Both have public transportation and parking garages nearby. Cock'd & Boozy Tour The tour begins at One Beacon Street, 2 short blocks from Boston Common, in the heart of downtown Boston. It ends right near the starting location.
  • I want to go on a tour, but can't go at any of the times listed. Is it possible to schedule a private tour?"
    Yes! Ye Olde Tavern Tours are available for private tours any day of the week and are a fun and engaging way to entertain clients, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, or treat your employees. Email us to schedule.
  • Are group rates available?
    Yes, for groups of 12 or more. Please see our private tours page to set up.
