Founder & Tour Guide

I founded Ye Olde Tavern Tours in 2013 because I'm passionate about Boston's history and drinking beer. I was eager to give visitors to Boston an experience that I want when I visit a new city—a mix of learning its history and having fun! I received my PhD in American History from Boston College, where I studied Boston during the American Revolution. Before founding Ye Olde Tavern Tours, I worked as a historical consultant for the Boston Red Sox. I'm originally from San Diego and have called Boston home for many years.

I am the author of King Hancock: The Radical Influence of a Moderate Founding Father, forthcoming in October 2023 from Harvard University Press. My first book, Boston in the American Revolution: A Town Versus an Empire, published in 2017.

My favorite site on the Freedom Trail is the Old State House and I'm currently loving Jack's Abby Shipping Out of Boston Amber Lager. Huzzah!

Tour Guide

Growing up in nearby Malden, Massachusetts, I have always felt deeply connected to Boston’s history. I received my Bachelor's degree in History from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia before becoming the head tour guide at the Massachusetts State House, where I worked for three years. In my spare time, I like bouldering at the rock climbing gym and passing the New England winters on the ski slopes.

My favorite stop on the Freedom Trail is the Massachusetts State House and my favorite local beer is Harpoon Camp Wannamango.

I'm a Boston native--born and raised--and am proud to call the city home. I attended Boston Latin School (where John Hancock also went to school!) and then received my Bachelor's degree in History from Boston University. I love kickboxing and going to the movies.

My favorite stop on the Freedom Trail is the Old State House and my favorite local beer is Cisco's Whale's Tale Pale Ale.

Tour Guide

I moved from California to Boston a few years ago to pursue my PhD in art history at Boston University. I love going on road trips around New England and discovering everything this amazing region has to offer.

My favorite stop on the Freedom Trail is the Granary Burying Ground because it is so beautiful and peaceful there. My favorite local beer is anything brewed by Jack's Abbey in Framingham. Their Oktoberfest (Copper Legend) is the perfect fall beer!
