Being a Ye Olde Tavern Tour guide is an incredibly fun way to share your love of history, meet new people, and spend time at some of the nation's most important historic sites. 

Tour shifts are 2.5 hours long beginning at 1:45pm. We are looking for someone who could work 1-2 shifts per week. Scheduling is flexible and pay is competitive.

                                                      

Applicants should:

  • have a passion for U.S. History and a strong understanding of the layout of downtown Boston.

  • be outgoing and comfortable speaking to groups of people.

  • be eager learners--we'll provide the content you need to learn.

  • be able to give a minimum six-month commitment to the job.​

At time of application, all candidates must:

  • be at least 21 years of age

  • have a Bachelor’s degree in History or Public History (Bachelor’s Degrees in Art History, Political Science, or American Studies will also be considered)

  • be able to work consistently on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday afternoons 

  • have reliable transportation into downtown Boston. Strong preference given to those who live within 10 miles of downtown Boston.
